About Roslyn

Roslyn Franken before and after weight lossRoslyn understands the power of emotional resilience in the face of challenge, adversity and creating positive change. She was born to a mother who survived the concentration camps of Nazi Germany and a father who survived the atomic bomb as a Prisoner of War in Nagasaki, Japan.

Diagnosed with cancer at age 29, Roslyn quickly learned she inherited her parents' “NEVER GIVE UP” attitude as she herself fought back to become a long-term survivor.

Then age 39, at her heaviest weight and concerned for her health, Roslyn decided to fight back once again - only this time to win her battles with weight, stress and lifestyle obstacles, once and for all!

Roslyn now shares her proven life principles and practical wisdom as a world-class Motivational Speaker and best-selling author of The A List: 9 Guiding Principles for Healthy Eating and Positive Living.

She also offers Personal Coaching for individuals, couples and groups seeking to lighten up in body, mind, heart and soul, for good. Roslyn is host of the How to Thrive after 35 Radio Show and Podcast and co-author of Death Can Wait: Stories from Cancer Survivors, a fundraising book for cancer research and cancer patient programs.

Organizations, individuals and the media alike now seek Roslyn for her powerful insights, practical strategies and positive inspiration to live a healthy, happy and resilient life in the face of challenge and change.

As a Motivational Speaker, Roslyn is best known for delivering captivating keynotes, powerful presentations and winning workshops for corporations, associations, non-profits, hospitals, schools and other groups seeking to promote healthy lifestyle and positive living practices to their  participants.

She has a Masters university degree in Human Systems Intervention (the study of how people manage self-learning and change as individuals and in groups) from Concordia University in Montreal, Certification in Organizational Psychology with a focus on Executive Coaching through the Professional School of Psychology in California and MBTI® Personality Type Assessment Qualification from Psychometrics Canada.

Roslyn was nominated for the 2009 Ottawa YMCA-YWCA Woman of Distinction Award in the Health & Active Living category and the 2006 Women's Business Network Business Woman of the Year award. Roslyn is a Premier Coach with the eWomen Network.

She is a seasoned media expert with feature appearances on television and radio and in numerous newspapers and magazines across Canada and abroad including NBC, CTV, CH and A-Channel Television; WBAP News/Talk 820 Texas, 92.9FM Voice of Barbados Radio, Women Power Talk Radio, CBC Radio; USA Today, International Business Times, Florida Today, Montreal Gazette, Vancouver Sun, Ottawa Citizen, Ottawa Business Journal, Physician Assisted World Newspapers; and Capital Style, Challenge, and Due West magazines.
