OTTAWA, Ontario. --- To help celebrate life as part of Dancing in the Street with Cancer
Survivors, The Glebe Pharmasave Apothecary located at 778 Bank Street Ottawa, Ontario,
Canada, will host a book signing fundraiser by cancer survivor, author Roslyn Franken from
11am to 8pm on August 18, 2007.
Franken will sign her 221-page, self-help book,
"The A List: 9 Guiding Principles for Healthy Eating and Positive Living and
donate $5 per book sold to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation. The public is encouraged
to purchase copies of The A List at the event, personally autographed by the author, at a
special Dancing in the Street
price of $22 including tax (regularly $22.95 plus tax) in an effort to build better lives
for themselves while supporting cancer patients and their families.
The Dancing
in the Street with Cancer Survivors event will attract thousands to Bank Street
where people will dance the afternoon and evening away to celebrate life! This unique and joyous occasion will salute
mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, children, friends, neighbours and co-workers who have
lived through the cancer experience.
Roslyn's
personal stories of her struggles and triumphs with respect to her own health
inspired me to follow her principles for healthy eating and positive living. I
highly recommend this book for anyone interested in improving their overall health and
well-being., Jennie P.
About Roslyn Franken
Roslyn
Franken was born to a mother who survived the concentration camps of Nazi Germany and a
father who survived the Japanese slave labour camps as a Prisoner of War in Nagasaki, Japan.
Roslyns mother passed away of cancer in 2004 after a remarkable and courageous 21
year battle. Diagnosed with cancer herself at age 29, Roslyn quickly learned that she
inherited her parents' positive survivor attitude as she fought back to become
herself a long-term survivor.
Approaching forty, Roslyns
personal struggles with food, weight and lifestyle led to the creation of the principles
that changed her life. By putting the
principles into practice, she reached and maintains her current, healthy weight and
continues to remain cancer-free. Roslyn now
counsels, motivates and supports individuals and groups who want to build a better life
through the practices of healthy eating and positive living, using the insights she
developed and now shares in The A Lists 9 Principles.
Roslyn Franken is available for media interviews, guest
speaking appearances, corporate functions and private counselling. Call (613) 843-0155
